Local Views

A selection of local sights that I like.

Dava 1

The Dava moor from Aitendhu looking west, with the railway and the old Dava school in the foreground.  The road to Lochindorb curving round the hill leading on to Carrbridge or Glenferness.

Aitendhu Farmhose

This house could be made habitable, it still has its fittings, but for how much longer ?    It has incredible views to the south across the Dava moor and to the Grampian mountains.

Edinkillie House

Edinkillie House in late autumn glory. Designed by John Paterson in 1823 as the parish Kirk manse.

Residents

The archetypical image of the highlands.

Cairngorm1

Achness falls

A pleasant 10 mile walk from Achness farm to Dunphail the route goes round three sides of this lovely pool.

Achness broom

In late April and May the scents and sights of this walk from Achness to Dunphail are delightful.

Cairngorm2
